I am so excited to stop everything for a few days and step into God’s awesome creation Yosemite National Park! I get to take some time away from being a husband, father, employee, kids pastor, evangelist, etc. and just BE a child of God! I unplug everything and will focus on nothing but enjoying the time with the Creator and all of his handiwork. I am so grateful to Karl Bastian and Kidology for starting the Yosemite Summit and for allowing me to attend for my 4th time. God provided all the needed funds for me to attend and I cannot wait to sit and listen to what he wants to say to me in that still small voice. I will be joining up with Karl and 3 other Kids Pastors and together we will venture out from Sacramento on Sunday morning to a cabin located in Yosemite and from that base camp, we will hike various trails around Yosemite. We will take time each day to pray, study the Word, and to meditate on what God is saying to each of us. We are there to hear from God and to allow him to restore, refresh, and renew us.
Whether or not your in ministry, every believer should “be still and know that I am God.” We are all so busy that we think 5 minutes of devotions keeps us spiritually healthy. I cannot encourage you enough to create your own Yosemite summit, which is a time to step away from doing life and just be a follower of Jesus. You will not regret it!
See you all on the Flipside! I’ll post some pics and reflections from YS 2013 when I return on May 24!
